Dear Fellow Flyers:

Please be advised that the airport maintenance facilites will be closed from Tuesday, August 27, 2002 through Tuesday, September 3, 2002. Luke will be here to supply your fuel needs. It's time for Donn and some friends to take a little vacation away from airplanes and watch the truck races.

WHAT'S NEW:  The ramps, driveway and approach areas have new asphalt. Just be careful driving on it. The new maintenance hanger is just about operational. Stop by during normal business hours and take a look.

Normal business hours are Monday, through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. for lunch.

Stayed tuned for what we are going to do next year!!!

Thank you for your cooperation and hope you are enjoying all the improvements we have made up to this point. There's more to come.

KEEP 'EM FLYING

Sincerely,

Donn Sutton

  1st Edition

December 12th, 2001

If you've been around the airport in the past couple months, you already know that there's been alot going on. Since Donn and Rob took over ownership and day to day management of the airport, things have really changed. A quick list includes...

  • New Runway lights have been installed
  • The FBO has been picked up and painted
  • Rooftop artwork
  • New PAPI lights have been installed (They should have power by Spring)
  • A new rotating beacon is going to be installed
  • New Hangers have been built
  • Plans for new tarmac around the FBO in 2002
  • Plans for new T hangers in 2002
  • And of course, there's the new website. :-)
  • That's the short list. Obviously, there are more than I listed, and many more in the works.

That brings me to this web page. My partner and I (we own a 172 based at C89, N3747L) have volunteered our time to set up, and maintain this webpage on the behalf of Sylvania Airport, and Sylvania Aviation Services, Inc. (Donn Sutton and Rob McKay) It benefits everyone if the airport is successful.

So, if you'd like to advertise, show off, or have an article published to the website, send me an email at N3747L@ShepLuce.com We could use ideas, pictures, and maybe a article or two.

Todd and I will be updating the website slowly at first (my goal is a page a day). Afterwards I'll be shooting for once a week.
